This bag pattern (#patternsbymrsh) was part of the Bag of the Month Club for Jan-Mar 2019. It has become one of my favorite handbags. It is roomy, easy to see inside, durable, and it is not slouchy.. I used vinyl and cotton canvas for the exterior.

If you plan to use anything other than quilting cotton for your bag, you will most likely need a heavy duty sewing machine. I used my Baby Lock Destiny II for all the components, but when it came to assembling all those components into the actual bag, I had to switch to my old, reliable, sew through anything Husqvarna-Viking Mega Quilter.

The interior features two slip pockets and one zipper pocket. I used quilting cotton for the slip pockets and waterproof canvas for the lining and the zipper pocket. I did not use interfacing (except in the handle and the interior slip pockets, where I used SF101) because the waterproof canvas and the vinyl are stable enough on their own.

A By Annie handbag zipper in ivory was the perfect match to my vinyl and waterproof canvas.

For bling and function, I used Emmaline Bags hardware in antique gold finish.

The cotton canvas print on the exterior is not there just for appearance. Those are exterior slip pockets on both the front and back of the bag. Fusible fleece between the interior and exterior layers of the outside slip pockets helps give stability.

The handle is nice and long to accomodate a cross body style, or it can be shortened with the adjustable slider to slip over your shoulder, or to simply carry.
Last month I shared a video on the Ring Sling. You can watch it here:
