Quilted Home Dec Pillow

I’ve veered onto a quilting path as of late.
I am winding my way through new projects to spruce up my home.

This new quilted pillow features a machine embroidered medallion front and center.
The embroidery file and the pillow instructions are included in the Craftsy
Elegant Embroidery class taught by Amanda Murphy.

The fabric is French General’s Josephine line.
A solid kona cotton is thrown in for contrast
and to ‘ground’ all those prints.
North Star is the name of the pillow and embroidery design.

Feather quilting enhances the border stips.

A button closure on the back allows for easy removal for washing
or switching out for the seasons.

Simple buttons from my stash worked nicely and didn’t cost me anything.  🙂

Moving along on my quilting path,
here are the pieces for my quilt,
all cut and ready to sew.

Have you taken any Craftsy classes?
IMO, Amanda Murphy’s class is top notch.
She is a terrific teacher and talented designer.
Not only do you get multiple quilt, table runner, and pillow patterns
along with video instructions – she also includes
the digitized embroidery files.
Love that.

Quilted Halloween Panel

The urge struck me to do some quilting with my short arm machine this week, so . . . .

I plundered through my stash and found this pre-printed panel.  Perfect because I just finished piecing together a Christmas quilt top (more on that soon), and I wasn’t in the mood to do more piecing this week.

The quilted pebbles make the sidewalk look like it is actually made of pebbles.  Love that!

A little glitter fabric paint here –

and there, along with

some hot fix crystals add just the right amount of bling.

It’s cool and rainy here today and feelin’ like fall.  Have a terrific weekend, friends.

Simple Granny Square Table Runner

Rarely anymore, but now and then, there is something on television that catches my interest.
When that occasion arises, I like to crochet as I’m watching the show.

This project was pretty much a no-brainer for me.
I used leftover Martha Stewart Extra Soft Wool Blend yarn from my stash.
And I first learned to crochet granny squares waaaaay back in the fifth grade,
so I didn’t have to purchase yarn and there were no instructions to follow.

The three yarn colors are igloo, bakery box white, and holly berry.
I used a size H/8 (5mm) hook.

The holly berry scalloped edging was achieved by crocheting 5 dc in one space,
skip 3 spaces, crochet 5 dc in the next space, etc.

The result is a lettuce-type edge.

Happy hand-made week, my friends.   🙂
